BACKGROUND
          The Reform era as an anti-thesis of the New Order era has run without its soul. Indonesian democracy in the past 10 years of Reform has been filled-up by civil liberties and the implementation of modern parliamentarian institutions. It revolves on procedural, yet substantial, democracy showing raison d’etre of the existence of Indonesia as a state and a nation. 
          Values of democracy’s soul (civic culture) which included the value of fairness, inclusiveness, pluralism, equity, tolerance and trust to each people have not shown voluntarily. Conflict and anarchist demonstration have often been used by “disappointed” parties to put up the existence of the groups. Law enforcement shows social discrimination, not equal to all people thus the system does not affect to cut off behavior of absolute corruption, collusion and nepotism-central obstacle of reform movement in 1998. 
          At another side, political actors as part of New Order era, widely known as corrupted and cronyism are still in the centre stage of democracy in the Reform era. At the same time, when the young intellectual came up, both at national and at the local level, they did not show political ethics and idealism struggle needed to restore the life of the state and nation. The “new comers” instead were attracted to the democracy wave controlled by big capital and money politics. 
          For that, efforts to develop the life of democracy which respect to ethics and responsible to citizens, included to increase the quality of local leadership, should be enhanced.

THE FATWA CENTER (TFC)
          Established by A.M. Fatwa on January 10, 2008, tFC is expected to institutionalize amal jariah on politics and the thoughts of the founder as legacy. This is an independent and non-profit organisation, at national and international level. 
          The Vision. tFC is to be a reliable and independent study center oriented and amal jariah on politics, democracy and humanity, based on religion, morality, ethics, inclusiveness, and pluralism.
          The Mission. The central attention of is to establish a network of young politicians with integrity and ethics, by program of local leadership workshop. Besides, tFC works to (a) to establish concepts and insights on issues of humanity, politics, and democracy ethically based on Republic of Indonesian 1945 Constitution; (b) to spread out study consideration in writings and in other media to develop political, democracy and humanitarian consideration; and (c) to conduct study on actual problems in society of the state. 
          The Activities. For such purposes, tFC will conduct seminars, trainings and workshops related to the vision, while conducting studies and survey of public opinions and publish books, bulletins, monographs and policy papers as media of concept socialization, study products and activities. The organization intends to distribute scholarship to develop human resources, science and technology, and to compile the legacy of the founder. 
          The central target of tFC’s activities is to influence the public-policy makers and political actors, oriented to enhance people’s prosperity; to establish behaviour from political actors which is integrated, transparent and accountable; to socialize the concepts of humanity, politics and constitutional democracy as ethically; as to sound opinion and study to increase the quality of local leadership based on social acceleration and Indonesia advantages. Those agenda are considered important by tFC in save political life, state and nation of Indonesian in Reform era democratic for the sake of people prosperity. 
          All activities in tFC are conducted in the surrounding of core values of integrity, morality, honesty and responsibility.

LOGO
          The logo tFC is eight cycle rotate counter clockwise, blue colored and red, with golden yellow in the center of the cycle. The logo shows diversity, dynamic, sustainable, wise, live-enlightening, integrity, consistent and bravery.
